Big Schools' Birdwatch is a simple activity that gets you and your class closer to the birds visiting your school grounds.

 

 

 

Year One- RSPB Big School Birdwatch

 
Year One have been counting the birds for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Having spent several weeks learning to identify common birds, the children took an hour to record birds spotted in different parts of the school grounds. The evidence will be downloaded to the RSPB and used to make a series of charts. Year One had to add their own categories to the recording sheet when grey herons and a sparrowhawk appeared.
